"Made in the 'appassimento' method (drying of the grapes). Traditionally it is aged in wood then bottle aged for at least 6 months prior to release. Enjoyed for centuries by royalty and noblemen, when Venice was a republic, it was affectionately known as 'Vino dei Dogi' (the Doge's Wine). Today, it is simply called 'Amarone', one of Italy's most prestigios wines. Pair with risotto, pasta, red meat, game, cheese or on its own. Open 30 minutes before drinking so as to allow it to breathe." Winemaker's Notes
